The
One day Digital Photography Workshop
is perfect for
those with a new camera and the desire to learn how to use it.
Our day will be divided into two parts: the classroom and in the
field. We will begin the day in the classroom where we will
cover the basics of photography. You will learn how the camera
works, when to use manual settings over auto exposure. The
difference between f/stops and shutter speeds and how they work
together. We’ll discuss ISO, depth of field, white balance,
saturation, contrast, JPEG vs RAW, different filters, and how to
use a flash in the field. These subjects will be followed by
extensive discussion
on nature photography, lighting, and compositional techniques.
Next, we’ll
venture into image processing and digital workflow. We’ll cover
downloading image files and opening them in Photoshop. Subjects
include basic image processing and enhancement, RAW conversion,
color, contrast, saturation, interpolation, and optimizing.
Later in the
afternoon, we’ll depart for a predetermined location where you
will have the opportunity to put to use every thing covered
during the class session. We’ll take advantage of the late light
and setting sun to capture beautiful images using everything you
learned. All participants will receive a booklet or CD which
includes everything covered during our class sessions.

The One-on-One workshop is designed for a single person seeking
intensive instruction and personal attention. The custom Digital
Nature workshop is for small groups up to 4 people that are
arranged by you and your group.
