In the age of digital technologies, major industries have been
transformed and so has stock photography. Our world is dominated by visual communications in the advertising,
marketing, and editorial arena. These new technologies
contribute to new trends and new opportunities continue to
challenge stock photographers today. The industry is more
competitive today than ever before, yet many photographers are
making good money. How can you compete, where do you start, and
how do you make your presence known?
Do you want to shoot money making images and sell them? The stock photography program at Aspen Photo Workshops is
conducted by industry veterans with years of experience and
representation by top agencies. This program is designed to
bring you to the forefront of the stock photography world. Our
workshops are intensive and will take you from stock photo
novice to a well versed photographer with the tools ready to
compete.
The Making Money in Stock
Photography
course is a week long ‘hands on’ course covering
a new
topic each day. These topics include Landscape, Nature, and
Travel; Lifestyle; Adventure Sports; Corporate and Industry;
including stock photography you can shoot in the studio. Each
day participants will be given assignments to shoot relating to
the subject and several of these shoots will be with models. The
following morning, students will edit their work followed by the
instructor critique of the images before moving into the next category.
The Adventure Sports Online
Course and Photo Shoot is a combination
internet course and location photo shoot. Upon enrollment you
will be enrolled in the 4 week online course where you will
learn what makes good stock photos, how find and work with
models, how to market your imagery, and more. Then participants
will come to Oregon in September and spend two days shooting
adventure models in a variety of scenes such as rock climbing,
canoeing, mountain biking, hiking, and more.
The Business of Outdoor and
Nature Photography is our newest
workshop dedicated to business practices. If you shoot outdoor
and nature imagery, this workshop is a must take. Led by three
industry veterans, this workshop will guide you through shooting
what sell, how to determine what the markets are looking for,
managing your office, marketing and self promotion, websites and
designs, pricing your work and negotiating sales, stock photo
agencies, web portals, and much more. Don't miss this one!
Stock Photo Shoots
The stock industry is very competitive and photographers who use
a production approach to stock photography are the most
successful. Planning, preparation, and producing their photo
shoots are essential to compete in today’s market. In essence,
you are creating a product and placing it within the marketplace
and this requires research and planning. So how do the pros do
it? We’ll cover all this and more in our Stock Photo Shoots.
Currently, all our stock photo shoots are all by appointment
only. Want us to arrange a Lifestyle shoot including props and
models? What about an adventure shoot with mountain biking,
camping, kayaking, or whatever you wish to do. For more info
